The old church bell of my village in Cyprus. This church bell probably still exists, but we don't hear it very often because they replaced it with an electric one which doesn't produce the same sound. The old church bell was manual, and it was never the same because each person ringing it was adding its own speed, rhythm etc.
The electrick one is always the same all the time.
The church bell was recorded on Saturday, the 3rd of April 2010, at 11 pm. It was the call for the Easter Service which starts at 11 pm and finishes just before 3 am in the morning.
It was recorded with a nokia n95 mobile phone, and I had to boost the volume.
The recording quality is not the best, but I want to keep this sound because I grew up with it and I don't want it to disappear.
