LeicesterSoundmap
Leicester Soundmap is a project that aims to raise awareness of the sonic environment and acoustic ecology by building a community which shares field-recordings of various places within the local area. With these recordings the community will be able to build a collaborative soundmap (using Google Maps) of Leicestershire by sharing their content via the Freesound Project. The project also aims to get individuals to engage with the local sonic environment, and change the way they listen to sounds in general, by actively encouraging the community to experiment with soundscape composition. These compositions can then be shared with the community via a Soundcloud group.
