This is sample made for the Freesound Dare no. 3. The sample is made out of the song 'Master of Disguise' (6min.43sec.) by Arcturus, released on Candlelight Records (1997). The challenge was to use the song in a way that it would be beyond being recognisable, but should still capture the mood of the song. In order to meet these requirements, I decided to take samples of the most characteristic parts of the song. Every cut was <1 sec. in order to avoid copyright issues. I then edited all samples in GoldWave, shortening some and lengthening others so that they would fit together in a coherent manner when putting them together to make the new sample. Many, many filters were used. The next step was to arrange them in Kristal Audio Engine. Four samples were used as the body of the new sample, and other samples were used in the background to enhance the mood and bringing it closer to the atmosphere of the original song. A total of twelve samples were used (can you recognise them?).
