Indeed I can hear these high pitched beeps too. But after downloading the original WAV file everything sounds fine. This seems to be a problem of Freesound's audio preview only. Maybe browser or audio driver related.

mister42, i've been finding these high pitched beeps in all recordings of thunder clap i researched. Maybe it's something related to equipment not handling well the sound?
