Past the Ten O'Clock Hour an alligator stealthily moves towards a wading heron in swamp shallows. One or two alert Gallinules realize the reptile is on the prowl and begin to softly call out and the frogs become quiet. When the gator reaches the heron the pond's surface roils and the heron moans for a few last seconds while the startled and alarmed Gallinules eerily call out loud alarms. In a few moments frogs begin their calls once again and the Moor Hens hush their shrill calls. Such is the circle of life in the swamp night. Sony recorder, MikroUsis, Windbubbles and dry bags.
