The Eastern Wood Pewee is an olive-grey North American flycatcher bird with two whiteish bars on its wings who prefers open pine or mixed deciduous forests for hunting insects from mid-level perches. This bird migrates to the Caribbean and Central America annually. The Eastern Wood Pewee builds nests from grasses and twigs and is often recognized by its 'pee-a-wee' sounding high pitched call. This recording was taken at sunrise in a pine dominated wet forest area in the St. Marks National Wildlife refuge. Frogs such as the pig frog and other birds including Chuck Will's Widow can be heard in the background. Sony recorder and MikroUsi microphones.
