Stereo recording of a close lighting strike from indoors with the window closed. It has been processed to remove some of the tiny dc spikes right before the strike, and it also has some compression and "pitch layering" to make it a tad more beefy.

Recorded with a Shure VP88 Stereo M-S microphone and a Tascam HDP2 @ 48kHz/24bit.

Used and appreciated by the free audiobook "Death by Cliche," by Robert J. Defendi, available at www.playtesting.net.

This is one of the few clips with just the thunder and not the rain.

I wanted to thank you for uploading such an awesome sample! I've used it in one of my songs (http://www.nyghtowllmusic.com/song-journal/2008/7/31/august-moon-the-festival.html'>my song) and made sure to give you credit so that other people can check out your sounds. Thank you again and I'll be sure to bookmark your profile for additional updates.
