This sample is part of the "Basic impulse wave 1" sample pack. It is a
multisample to import into your favourite sampler. It is a basic
impulse waveform with some strange aliasing effects in the higher
frequencies. In the sample pack there are 16 samples evenly spread
across 5 octaves (C1 till C6). The note in the sample name (C, E or G#)
doesindicate the pitch of the sound. The sound was created with a
Theremin emulation ensemble from the user library of Reaktor. After that normalising and fades were applied within Cubase SX.

These samples remind me of an interview I heard where an expert was describing the shapes of waveforms created by one of the first generation synthesizers. He was characterizing the forms as triangular, sawtooth, rectangular... My mind can't conceive of models but these samples you've posted capture an old skool feel, I think.
