I was at Guitar Center the other day & they had an Akai Timbre Wolf set up. I was noodling around on it & noticed how well it was constructed. The chassis is metal. All of the Knobs & Buttons are sturdy as hell. The Pitch Bend is solid & snaps back nicely. Even the keys feel good! Not quite "SemiWeighted", but damn close!
Of course the filter situation is a bit weird & the lack of ADSRs/LFOs is a bit of a pain in the ass... but these limitations can be kind of inspiring in a way.
Then I noticed that it was on sale for $199! Of course I bought it :P
Here's some recordings of it's VCOs/VCF ( with & without Resonance ), as well as the "Howl Circuit". Each of the 4 VCOs is switchable between Square & Sawtooth.
