Approximisation of the sound you get with your head under water or what you hear after a large blast. Useful in movie dream scenes, action or thriller scenes or the like.
@SheIsSoBlue: I don't believe it is a ready available effect. I made this by taking a railway carriage sample, it sounds like the mic was muffled in a blanket or on the floor or something like that. In any case you need to get rid of all the high frequencies and buff a narrow section of low-middle frequencies to get a sense of ringing. Try it yourself with a parametric equalizer.
OMG thank you! I've been looking for something like this for ages! I'm not really experienced with sound design so I don't know what words to search. I could only ever find high pitched ringing noises... Could you tell me what that effect is called? The "deep pressuring silence" thing? You hear it so much in films and I never know how to call it!
