A raw audio recording of a sword being slowly drawn from a leather sheath. (This is a replacement audio for a sound I had made earlier, with the background noise at the beginning and end taken off.) See Timbre's noise reduction remix of the sound for a much cleaner version without background hissing noise - https://freesound.org/people/Timbre/sounds/417194/#comments.

I used this sound with a bit of editing in my most recent audio project, where a strange crystal blade was being produced in an otherwise near-soundless environment. It was one of the last sound effects I needed to do for the project, and it really helped with the completion. Thanks for recording it!
Here is how it got used:

Thanks for doing some of the work for us, but the problem of the ringing at the end being overwhelmed by the background still exists as before, and that's the best part of the sound for most everyone I imagine.
It's a tidier package now, but I still suggest you try and see if Timbre doesn't mind fixing it up. You should actually give him the original recording as well, because it's easier to do noise canceling the longer the file is as far as I know, something about analysis?
I've seen him do it on a file with even less to work with though, so if you don't have the original any more it's not the end of the world.
Still appreciate it though... :-)
