This is the recording of the crackling sound of bread, just removed from the oven. The bread was cooling on a grid and the crust started to crackle.
Because of the live recording in the kitchen, there were a number of unwanted noises in the recording I could not remove completely. There is a fan of the oven which overlaps the lower frequencies of the cracking sounds. Also, there is the occasional rustling sound of clothing, which was unavoidable.
Besides these background noises, it is an excellent high-quality recording with a very large dynamic range.

Heard that sound IRL the other day and wanted to find a recording of it. This is great thank you for sharing!
Thanks to too Klankbeeld for pointing me to it.
May I suggest adding "cooling" to the tags? Would have helped me find this :)
Cheers!
