I needed to create this sound to simulate the effect of a chain snapping for this short film here, check it out its a super awesome super short little blip :-)

I tried a number of things to get this one and kept running into problems, my solution was to record some small fireworks since they gave a rather sudden spike in the audio :-) and sounded about right, perhaps not entirely correct for a chain, but it got the point across in the film, and I think it could work really well for a rope snapping :-)
If you could credit us as follows when you use our sounds that would be awesome :-)

(or you could also put "Additional Sound effects provided by Cosmic Embers www.youtube.com/cosmicembers" that would work just as well :-))

Thanks for a great, groovy sound, for my upcoming 3D animation.

This is good! I'll probably end up using it in my game Fear & Hunger: Termina.

it's close enough. i don't know why it's so hard to find a certain damn sound. apparently google doesn't want me to finish my project

Very convincing!
And that is good thinking outside the box with the firecracker.
The clattering at the end really adds to it in my opinion.
Not the cleanest background but, it's really not very noticeable in the actual sound, and I'm guessing where ever you had to do this for safety while using the firecracker made it harder to get a pure environment.
