Excerpts from a tape found in an old answering machine I bought on 06/29/2019, and a rather ominous-sounding one at that...
Full disclosure: I will often edit these "found sound" snippets prior to upload, usually to protect peoples' privacy and for the sake of brevity, and this file is no exception. However, even in the context of the full tape, I'm still not exactly sure what's going on here. I'll try to fill in the gaps:
In addition to the hot tub mentioned about 14 seconds in, there's also messages about a washing machine and an ice machine that I didn't include here for privacy reasons. Apparently, whoever was receiving these messages was in the process of moving to a new address, but later on there's repeated calls from the moving/installation companies saying that no such address exists, and that the phone number for the new address doesn't exist either. Then there's the voice of the man about 25 seconds in, who I'm willing to bet is a divorcee by the way he's talking, albeit an obviously concerned one. The weirdest and somewhat disturbing part, which I also left out here, is the collect calls starting about 1:01 in. On the full tape, there's five or six instances of these collect calls, and with each instance, the person calling sounds gradually more worried (I cut the name out of this person, who would've otherwise been heard at about 1:03 in).
Did I stumble onto lost evidence for some unsolved mystery?

Oho the first 30 seconds of this are GOLD. As a woman who's been stalked by about eighty? men? THOSE MESSAGES ARE HOW IT STAA-AARTS... shudder... :{
