A stereo field recording of woodcarving, where the carver chops out a piece of Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) with a gouge and mallet to begin with and then finishes by hand.Captured in a stone walled, slate roof workshop with the mic(s) about 3m from work. The metallic sound heard during chopping is the vise handle rattling. Recording chain- Rode NT4>Fel Battery Preamp>Zoom H2 line in.
