Here's a recording of a fox, specifically a female (vixen) captured at around 0145hrs in the morning up in the Blackdown Hills, in Devon, UK.

Recorded using a pair of Electro-voice RE27 N/D microphones in binaural configuration feeding a home-made low noise preamp, which in turn fed a Steinberg UR22 MkII USB audio interface.

Post-recording processing:
Normalised to 0dB, and resampled from 24-bit to 16-bit. No other processing or equalization applied.

Glennsim - I was in bed at the time, so no sighting. I think she was proclaiming her ownership of the territory, or hoping for a male to answer.

Did you see her, and what was she talking about?

Thanks - I was just recording some 'overnight ambiance' and caught this by chance, glad you like it. She was some distance away as you may tell from the echos around the terrain. Headphones reveal this better.
