Added drums to a bag-pipe loop posted by toiletrolltube. This sample is a remix of the following sample:<http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=89280> I thought adding some drums to the piper sample to simulate a street performace by the piper and some drummers would be interesting.First I used a low shelf cut on the piper sample to remove some ambient noise. Then I got the piper loop playing in Ableton Live and synchronized the song tempo to that of the piper clip so i could easily overlay some drums to it.I was looking for some dull drum sounds to simulate a street performance with the drummers not very close to the microphone. I settled on using some synthesized conga sounds in Ableton and created a rhythmic loop.Actually I created 3 very similar conga loops and played these together, to simulate several drummers playing. The conga sounds where put through an amp sim to add a bit of harshness and finally a sparse reverb to simulate outside ambience reverb. The piper clip was also put through reverb and a bit of EQ in order not to clash with the drums too much.Added another rhythmic clip on top with a shaker and a tambourine.A bit of panning provided spacial separation between the piper and the drummers.
