I soldered a small SMD coil to a 1m shielded cable with a 3.5mm plug at the other end and connected it to a small battery powered guitar amplifier. The guitar amp was then connected to the sound input on my laptop. These noises were recorded as I used the coil to "sniff" different points on my laptop while listenning through headphones. The low frequency "bump" sounds that can be heard on some clips happened when I moved the coil over the magnet on the laptop speakers.
