This is a loop created using Audacity for dare-29.
http://www.freesound.org/forum/dare-the-community/35414/
First I created a click track in Audacity, at 120 BPM 4/4.
The I loaded the bassdrum. I added another sound to the bassdrum to create variation in the bar and 1/2 bar hits.
Followed by the hihats. - I used a pre-made hihat pattern, but I cut it up and reassembled parts of it to create my own pattern (including a reversed hit and one I stretched in Audacity using the build in Paulstrewtch).
Then I loaded a clap and the snare and placed these sounds to create a pattern.
I also used Audacity volume envelopt to shorten one of the snare hits to fit the mix better.
I finished off by placing the cymbal and the metal rattle to add interest to the loop.
No other effects were used (besides Paulstretch mentioned above) and reversing and volume envelope (if you actually consider those as envelopes). Everything was done in Audacity and the mixing was achieved simply by adjusting the volume of some of the samples, as needed.
