I need something to sound like plants growing (if you haven't guessed it yet, I'm working on a play that involves magic). The closest thing I can think of is the sound of weeds being pulled out, but my mic has horrible quality and it's stuck to my desktop anyway so I can't do it myself. An alternative would be pulling bark off a tree (or both!). Very much appreciate any contributions!
For the bricks, I'd like to hear the crumble of the earth coming apart (I've searched 'earth' but most of them are too grand a scale) as if the floor were to open up like an earthquake and form walls in the process. Either that, or a mound of bricks crashing on the ground. Should I just use a normal 'exploding' sound and play with layering deep rumbles? It's a massive wall of bricks, falling on people Indiana Jones-like.
(Thanks for the bricks and the scroll sounds so far!)
I have some relatively thick paper maps rolled and stored in tubes I could unroll for you. Do you mean just laying it out on a table and pushing the roll to one side in a sliding motion or unrolling between two hands and unsupported (ie not on table) ?
I could also try a pile of bricks falling as well. It might take a few days though. In the meantime you might find something here useful.

Those 'bricks falling' sounds aren't quite what I'm looking for, but I'll see if they can work.
(It needs to sound heavier, although I can probably alter them myself and see what happens.)
I really appreciate the scroll, though; I wish it were a more clean noise, but it'll do. Thanks!
