Let's say your favorite magic explosion sound is from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - your keyterm becomes "potter explosion."
Keep thinking along those lines, and you should find something good.

Here is a sound which might work -- an authentic 50-caliber rifle being fired once.
I just now posted this sound, so you may have to wait until it is approved/moderated.
Hope it works for you.

Your "explosion" may be a "magic poof" , (like flash-powder igniting, woomph), but I've never heard one on Freesound.

Have you heard one anywhere on a cartoon, tv show or movie you liked? Do you have a link?
I could create something similar for you...

I'm not sure if that question was aimed at someone or a general question that should have been: "is it possible to..." I will assume the former.
Although I don't condone this activity, this is something that you do and keep to yourself.
I find it highly unethical that you are asking someone else to do it for you.
While I do not rip sounds directly, what I do is listen to the sound of the audio you would like and produce a sound similar to it. I create it from scratch to avoid costly licensing fees. Plus, you will also get a better fidelity quality compared to recording the sample off it's source.
This is what broadcast commercial music producers do when approached for a music bed that sounds like X song by Y artist.
While the debate of sampling ethics are rampant in this post, may I suggest the book, "Making Beats: The Art of Sample-Based Hip-Hop"
-Joseph G. Schloss

Plus, Neil Gaiman's ideas on piracy: http://www.firecold.com/videos/neil-gaiman-on-copyright-piracy-and-the-web
Great material for debate, I'm sure.
At any rate... instakidz, I will create something to what I think you mean by, "It's the explosion with something like pixie sound".
It should be a fun go at it!
Soon! -AR
