Cool, yeah. Maybe not "amazing".
An open-source, professional-grade crossplatform DAW would be an "amazing" find. (Dunno if ardour counts)

I gave up after three sites -- where I clicked on your description, clicked on the article, and went wandering through the site until I finally found some hint it only supports Windows.
Okay, so a lot of these apps and plug-ins are for windows. There are a lot of VST plugins in this list, but there are also quiet a few independent applications.
