    Youtube Videos

    Hello.

    I just want to make sure I understand everything correctly on here. I am wanting to make meditation videos for Youtube and use water sounds in them for example. The creative Commons 0 license is the one where I can use these as background sounds, without having to mention the user who created them, or ask for any type of permission? I don't want to get in trouble for anything! Also, any tips for a new user? I'm completely new to this website and how all of these licenses work.

    Paraphrasing from the above link:

    =====

    "We aren't lawyers so this isn't legal advice, but here's our summary: for the "zero" (Creative Commons 0) license you can do pretty much what you want with the sound. You could even sell the sound, ... but you can't claim you are the author!

    For "attribution" you must always mention the original creators of the sounds when you use them, but otherwise you can still do pretty much anything with it, including selling it.

    "Noncommercial" works like attribution, but you can't earn any money with the piece of work you create! As with all licenses the original creator can give you permission to use the sound outside of the original license, so it may be worth dropping them a message."

    =====

    So basically, if you don't want to have to credit users, then stick to "Creative Commons 0" sounds, which don't require credit/attribution. You can filter by licenses when you search to make this easier!
