I will record any sound (preferably CC0) from Freesound through this special microphone, to give it a very lo-fi sound. Just post the Freesound link to the sound you want recorded in this thread
Hmm... I'm gonna pick this just to try to get a feel for the frequency response of the thing.
No hard requests from my part, but here's some ideas for fun
Ideas :
Your own heart.
Against your chest and humm at different frequencies/notes.
Record the floor and walk around it, for footsteps sounds.
Against an electric kettle boiling water
Different instruments ? Guitar bass, percussions etc...
Against a bridge with cars going over it
Typical bottle / blowing over/in it sound.
Maybe something with a car? If you're in a backseat of one, record the window or something.
Thanks!!!
Well as I finished typing this and re-read the thing, I realised I'm off-topic and it was about resampling sounds x')
Here's two from me that could be interesting
https://freesound.org/people/Sadiquecat/sounds/577854/ Lofi Piano, soon to be extra lofi
https://freesound.org/people/Sadiquecat/sounds/695630/ Cat purr
Thanks again!
Interesting. Thanks for doing that. The device preserves a pretty good dynamic range and frequency response. Seems like it's mostly doing a lowpass along with some crackle from the electronics or something. The upper midrange also seems rolled off in a way that creates a sense of distance or "psychoacoustically implied reverb".
Maybe it'd be good for creating something akin to an "educational VHS tape" vibe, or for adding a roomy quality to drum tracks or guitar recordings. If I were using it in rock'n'roll I'd probably blend the processed signal 50/50 with the original, as this is one of those tricks that always seems to sound good.
