Merry Christmas to you too!

Yes, the original issue was hardware-related. Back when I sampled this, I had to transfer the audio from the original DAW to my main setup by mixing it down and putting it on a CD. On top of this, the studio used was rather limited in processing power, so dropouts occurred and pieces went missing while encoding (that's really what is going on- dropouts in the signal, not distortions or other glitches).

Good news is- I have gone back and completely re-sampled the instrument. I do not think I will be able to share all of it for free, but maybe I can put up a few of the samples like this set.

Wow, that was a fast reply :)
Was a bit miffed about your chime samples as they're really nicely sounding but flawed (hardware trouble?) and they are exactly what I could use on a Genesis (the band) cover project. But the chimes are good sounding and free and I had the time and tools to fix any problems so, happy now.
Did a Izotop RX overhaul on the lot and made a NI Kontakt patch. Chimes now sounding perfect. Thanks
Btw, merry x-mas

Screentan, thanks for the comment; please allow me to explain my reason for sharing these samples. I think the real question one should ask is, "why bother posting them at all?" As you said, it takes some editing to remove the glitches from all the samples (typically just removing the gap of silence and doing some zero-crossing line-up work will reduce the glitch to an almost un-noticeable artifact)- time I personally do not have for the sake of a free project. These instruments cost a lot of time and money to sample, cut, and edit, and I hardly even break even on most projects- and that's from selling commercial versions. Thus, between a choice of not sharing ANYTHING and sharing SOMETHING that just needs a little "TL&C;", is to me, a rather easy one. :)

Hi there Samulis. Thanks for these chime samples. BUT there's gaps in the recordings on almost every chime sample. So at the same time im thrilled someone took his time and effort to do and share all these recordings I dont understand why bother post them in this state. Useless unless some hours of editing. Sharing is good, sharing crap isn't.

Thanks for the answer Samulis. I tried to remove the glitches today but like you say, the irregular beating make it impossible. Good idea with the re-pitching - I'll try the c# one and pitch it up.
