Recording of some sort of wood being broken with something like a hammer, and in this case with no pieces falling onto anything (just the smash impact). Has a lot of natural room reverberation. Was originally recorded for smashing sound effects for a radio theater play. Cannot remember the mic used, perhaps SM-58, or a small diaphragm condenser; but it probably went through a Sytek pre into a Gadget Labs Wav824 interface.
