This is a rather noisy file server with several hard drives and fans, recorded with the microphones inside the case. This was recorded in 2005 with a Sony MZR-700 minidisc recorder, an outboard Church Audio preamp, and a set of Linkwitz modified Panasonic WM60 capsules.

nice! This brings me back to the days I would have to start up my friend's server while she was on vacation. Boy what a lovely sound this is!

Considering the capsules I was using at the time weren't quite matched, and I didn't have room to line things up on quite the same axis, it's about as good as it will get. That was five years ago, and I don't use that gear anymore.

Great sound, thanks. Maybe you can try to line the microphones up a little more precise next time? (I think I hear some kind of comb filter)?
