I recorded a bunch of guitar noodling to a Fostex X-26 four-track recorder, then recorded the tape to my computer with Goldwave wherein I cut out a segment which was looped and then processed with reverb effects and other VSTs in FL Studio.

also, thanks for the VST suggestion... FL Studio's standard "Reeverb" plugin is really starting to sound pretty same-ish!

Great sound - and whats even greater is that you describe the way you created it.
If you work with win vsti go and check out roommaschine 844 reverb. It has very distictive sound, I used it with guitar to create these 'ethereal' things.
