Sounds recorded by young members of Filipino community of Barcelona and their families; as participants of a Sons de Barcelona workshop at St James The Less Church and UPF, Barcelona.
This is part of a series of workshops done in collaboration with Casa Asia, that attempt to explore how immigrant communities in Barcelona would represent themselves through sound. Participants are provided with recorders that they can take with themselves and use daily, during a period of time.
In the workshop we reflect collectively on the relation between the recorded sounds, and their cultural significance for the participants. Attempting to not depart from any preconceived idea of the participant's cultural identity.
Sound recorded by Mary Esther Cordero.
