Recorded at a US Civil War re-enactment, Oregon, USA, 2012. Black powder rifles, cannons, almost a full battle. Lots of range. Marching past about 15 feet away, up to about a football length from the action with a Tascam DR-08.

I think, unless I'm thinking to early, that all the black powder would fire at the start of a battle, then the battle would be fought with swords...
