The sound of a heavy impact with the earth followed by falling debris.
Constructed in LIVE!
I used a reversed kick drum, pitched and automated for the pre impact sound and four different kick drums filtered and trimmed to create the impact. Made the falling dirt and debris sound from a clap, bongo, finger snap, cabasa, shaker, guiro and conga hits put through LIVE!’s Erosion plug in and then a grain delay.
Created for the "Earth Wind Fire Water competition".

Not bad yo! I envisioned a high-speed meteorite impacting sand or soil in slow motion, then at the end, speeding back up to a normal frame rate.
(like a Michel Bay film effect) :0) I downloaded sample for use as a wicked kick drum though.
I'll let ya know if I make something cool with it!
Thanks!
