I didn't have any trouble with Audacity 1.3.7 but sox did warn me about a missing WAV header. So I uploaded a second version that I hope fixes the issue for you guys. See "wingflap_fast-2.wav"

I'm getting a problem too loading it into Audacity. Causes Audacity to crash.

Don't know what to tell you Doc. I don't have protools, but my editor tells me the file is a RIFF little-endian, stereo 44 MHz, 2 x 24 bit wav file.
Maybe try to download it again?
