bergen ships

Here is another recording of the MS Finmarken. One week later. This time I was at water level not on the 3rd floor of the United Sardine Factory. :) The level is a bit cooler, no distortion and the resonance includes some ocean as the ship passes. Very long reverb. Enjoy.

Thank you for you comment! How lucky you are to live there.
I'll be back in Bergen soon, in June.

I love the Lofoten as well. A friend of mine used to work on that ship.

I made a composition for the Borealis festival this year using these ship sounds. You can find it here.

This was the coolest of the two of Finnmarken. The reverb was really nice, and tells about the mountains of Bergen. Here I live, I can hear Finnmarken when it comes, if the wind is right. Finnmarkens horn can clearly be recognized from the other "Hurtigruten" ships. Also nice you recorded Lofoten, one of the old generation.

Here you can follow those two, and many other "Hurtigruten" ships along the norwegian coast:

Thank you! That was indeed the idea, about the reverberation. And I wrote a pice called "Resonance" using these sounds!
Milo.
