Digital recording of the wind blowing in the forest. Use of Schoeps MS mic.
Thanks Glit. This sample was recorded some years ago. Since then, I learned that the best combination for windy conditions or to record wind is first to encapsulate the mic with a foam windcover and then cover the mic with a Rycote or whaterver wind cage you may find. Finally, I would be cautious in activating a digital or analog filter at the time of recording. Would prefer at post prod cleaning up a bit. This sample was not edited.
Very nice sound. I like the muted, quite peaceful feeling. Reminds me of many days of my childhood. I would give this a 9 or 10 rather than an 8 except for the few very minor points where the wind blew a bit too hard directly on the mic. Perhaps a (tougher?) filter? I know...asking to use a wind filter on a field recording of wind... Where do they get these people? ;c)Great job, as all your work seems to be. Thanks!
great sound! thanks!
