By mid-September a lot of the migrant songbirds have left southern Illinois, along with their songs. BUT, the insects and their choruses abound. This recording made on September 21st, 2012, in a clearing surrounded by heavy forest.
Equipment: Zoom H4N recorder and the microphone was the Rode NTG-2 Shotgun microphone.
