Ambient recording around a lake called ‘Haarsteegse Wiel’ near village Haarsteeg in the Netherlands.
Coots geese craws and all kind of small bird around. Often you hear the geese flap there wings on the water surface. A woodpecker is hammering far away so now and than.
Sometime someone is passing. Hurray, only one couple asked me loudly what I am doing (17 min). Next time I put my Al Pacino scarface on.
The lake is surrounded by trees and bushes. There is almost no wind.
Left, in the distance the hum of the far highway, city and village. Far left a local polder/farmland road. Geese on 150m. After 36 minutes sometimes the far sound of a loader in the polder.

History about the 'Haarsteegse wiel' area
When a dike breaks, water runs into the polder and creates a 'wiel' (wheel) because of the whirlpool behind the dike. That is what happens 1610. An enormous ice-dam blocked the river Maas and the dike here broke. The power of the running water created the 'Haarsteegse wiel'. It happened again in 1740. The 'wiel' is 19 meter deep and one of the largest (18ha) wiels in the Netherlands. The Haarsteegse whiel is surrounded by a rich and varied flora and fauna.
