Dawn chorus and sunrise in a Filipino suburbs.
I made this recording at about 5:15AM, from the terrace of a house located at Santa Monica Heights, which is a costal residential area near Calapan city (oriental Mindoro, Philippines).
One can hear the atmosphere of this place during sunrise, with some crickets, dawn chorus from local birds, roosters and dogs barking in the distance, some human voices and activities, some vehicles passing by, as well as some distant fishermen’s motorboats and traffic hum. At about #10:30, the cicadas slowly start to make some noise, and the bell from the nearby church starts ringing at #19:03.
Recorded in July 2025 with a Zoom H5Studio (built-in XY microphones).

What a beautiful sound recording. I have never been there and will never go there, but when I close my eyes and turn up the heat a little, I am there. You can hear that you are in an environment where people live. Not because of the helicopter and the traffic, but because of the morning crowing of the many roosters who, together with chickens, provide eggs and meat for the human race.
