I've often swam in our local lake, and was amazed by the cacophonous sound underwater, but never wanted to risk my precious microphones. Then I picked up some cheap microphones on ebay - $3ea - i bought three! So with these, some plastic film and gaffer tape i was able to rig up a cheap hydrophone. This is what i heard underwater.
