Si se puede en EEUU? Yeaah!!

"Si se puede!" has been a rallying cry for immigrant rights. Barack Obama's political campaign has also adopted a version of it, "Yes we can," as a campaign slogan. Might be a bit more idiomatically accurate translation into English, too, since the Spanish version isn't meant to be at all impersonal--it can be done and we're going to do it!

ok, nevermind. I googled it and a more accurate translation is: "yes it can be done" That's good, it's generic enough that I think i can use it.

thanks for the great sample. i would like to use it for a song that i need some chanting for, but i don't speak spanish and i don't want to take it entire out of context. I put it through free translater and it came out with "yes is able". Can you tell me what exactly it meant in relation to the demonstration? thanks.

Strange to think of it as troubling or intimidating. I was there, and I can say that it was festive and energizing. Also happened in a city that tends to support its immigrant population. In the description, I have added a link to some pictures that may at least give some idea of the atmosphere.
