also, this is "freesound" and a lot of doors sound the same. Don't be so nit-picky. If I record a gunshot, are you going o tell me I ripped off any of a hundred war movies...... don't be a troll
I dunno who ripped off who, but what I do know is that this sound is very similar to the door in Minecraft. One potential solution is that Mojang have a similar door, and recorded it. Another way is that Mojang looked for a door sample to use, and stumbled upon this one. A third way is that the door samples from Minecraft was pitched up and rerecorded with some ambience added, to make it sound more natural. Like I said. I dunno who ripped off who, but you should definitely study the sound more in detail.

@jobro: I've uploaded this recording on June 3rd 2007. Minecraft was released in 2009.
