Back in the early 90’s l produced music, generally house, techno and trance and some very experimental forms of music. I believed that the right music in the right environment could not only give you a natural euphoric high but could also be a form of distraction and escapism from the angst of the pressures life throws at us.
In 2002 l was then diagnosed with an Arnold Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia which l was to go on and learn would have a big impact on both my mental and physical health. Many years were spent learning coping mechanisms for pain and symptoms of the condition but in 2013/2014 l began setting up a small studio and l finally returned to producing music again in 2015. I found this was the best coping mechanism of all even though the type of music l am now producing a very different style to back then. Music can take you to a different level but unfortunately the effects music can produce within the body and mind could never be given in tablet form.
I try not to let my disability rule my life and as difficult as it can be l try to take a positive from each day. Life is about what we can do, however small, not what we can’t.
