@ identi_crisis- You're absolutely correct, this isn't a DFV, "just" a tuned Chevy. I didn't know the difference then; I do now. Heaps of F5000 cars down here in NZ and I've recorded plenty more.

The Cosworth DFV has a flat / single-plane crank, this is clearly a cross / two-plane crank engine. If I'd had to have guessed, I would have said it's an early Chevy-powered CanAm car - but it's actually a Formula 5000 (as in cc) car, and is, by coincidence perhaps, a Chevy engine.
