someone - a drunken homeless woman with mental problems, actually - cries out loud something I couldnt understand, in a language I couldnt identify. The tone is clear though: desperation, suffering, pain... The sample is not longer because protesting people in the neighbourhood hushed her down (with words not exactly kind, you know)
2022 edit: some users being curious about this sample, I add here the answer I wrote on its origin: "This sample you mention was recorded on Dec 2nd 2007, from my balcony like many other samples by that time. For some reason this street had nice reverberation, and a small alley nearby still contributed to the good sound. Days before recording, I had noticed this person (middle aged woman, very drunk, foreigner) which had found shelter in the alley. Often, as I passed near I could hear her mumbling words which I couldn't understand.
So to answer your question: it was recorded on the field, so I didn't create the sample strictly speaking, she did. I was ready, somehow focused on her presence in the neighbourhood, and just took the chance. I should also add that from 2006 through 2012 I was obsessive about recording, registered any source around me.

I have used this in a show Inferno 2010 (from Dante's Inferno) which has gone to Krakow Street Theatre Festival. The show is on this week - see here:

It's used at the end of the Lust scene, which does not end nicely. Many thanks to dobroide.

Pretty disturbing track. I actually recognise it; it was used in an urban legend video on youtube called something like "Suicide Mouse" except it was slowed down a lot so it sounded really sinister.
