Afternoon in Rua da Picaria, Porto on the sidewalk. People walking by, cars passing on cobblestone pavement. Faint traffic noise in the background almost all the time. Sometimes also seagulls screaming in the far background. From 1:13: Three men loading a small truck that is parked in ca 10 meter distance with empty gas cans, that they roll over the sidewalk first (tonal, almost bell-like sound). After that closing of the tailgate. 2:30: screaming noise of a circular saw in the carpenter's workshop that’s located on the other side of the street. Cars passing at 3:43, 4:00 and 4:42. A young couple passing by and talking Portuguese at 3:18. Sawing sound in the background again. Round 5:00 talking from some radio or TV from a nearby flat in the background. At 5:20 the truck with the gas cans starts the motor and drives away, small bell-like sounds from the cans that hit softly against each other. At 5:44 buzzing of an electrical door opener. Some birds twittering in the trees.Recorded with Roland Edirol R-09 digital recorder and built-in stereo microphone.
