Recording of small waves breaking on a rocky shore. Recorded from about 40 meters from the water. The frequency of the waves was such that there is no clear wave-to-wave sound, although the crashes can be heard they rise out of the general mash of sound. Recording chain: Rode NT4 (stereo microphone in furry blimp) - Sound Devices MixPre (Mic preamplifier) - Edirol R09 (digital recorder, 44.1 kHz 16 bit).

yes, it's an amazingly pure sound. Kind of an 'archetype' wave recording...
The NT4 was in a blimp with furry cover, works wonders on wind noise :)
It's really amazing that I can hear only waves and no wind bothering. Well controlled.
The location...
