Believe it or not this is a cricket chirping processed by a Blur filter (noise impulse response). Recording chain: Rode NT-4 stereo mic (one capsule pointed at the cricket) - Sound Devices MixPre (50% gain) - Edirol R-09 recorder (line-in 24 bit 44.1 kHz, rec level = 10).
