Binaural recording of Pacific Chorus frogs (Pseudacris regilla) in a backyard pond. The mics were right at the edge of the pond, at ground level, so the frogs are just a few inches from the mics. In this clip we hear a few moments of noisy "silence" (the AGC picks up EVERYTHING when there is no sound). You can hear frogs calling from other ponds in the area. Then the frogs break into song for a couple of minutes - this part is fun with headphones. The silence resumes and the AGC kicks back in. Again you hear the sound of frogs in the distance, and the whistle and low roar from a distant train. You also hear small water sounds, which are the frogs chasing each other in the grass and water around the mics. A pair of frogs call to each other, and we hear the train again, further away this time. You hear a few more calls, the growing roar of an approaching airplane, and the clip ends.

This is one take, no layering. The mics were right at the edge of the pond on a little peninsula, with water (and frogs) on both sides. I am hoping by next spring to have a better recording setup.

This is cool man, is it all from one take, or did you overlay sounds? its awesome, very alive, frogs have an awesome sound and they make beautiful music.
