Berber village women cracking nuts. This Morocco installment finds your intrepid explorer squatting alone in a mud hut with three Berber women who spend all day cracking Argan nuts (for cosmetic and culinary uses). A nut is held between thumb and forefinger on a flat stone and a second round stone is used to hit and crack the nut. Occasionally you hear more nuts being poured out ready for cracking. The ladies chat. "Wochar" means OK. One lady has a baby with her who starts fussing. Voices of other tourists and our guide are heard outside. Morocco Feb 2006 Sony MD and stereo mic.

I did not think I would find a recording of the argan nut cracking. Thanks so much.
