Pretty good; if you cut off everything before the click it works nicely as a gun out-of-ammo sound!

That whistle at the exhalation is a little too much.

Used this sound for a comedic moment (2 different moments, actually) in a theatre production of Sideways Stories from Wayside School. It worked great! Thanks!

If you can't hear it, it's probably because of your headphones/speakers. People with normal hearing should be able to hear it just fine!

Very annoying indeed... I remember as a child I would constantly be exposed to the 15.7K whine of old TVs, but now every time I hear one of those, I have a love hate relationship with that sound and it drives me insane. I've also heard this type of sound with squeaking breaks (up to 18K sometimes) and I want to pull my head off and throw it because it is so piercing LOL.
I'm 20 and can still hear up to 20 K, though it is quite faint... most people I am at college with can barely hear 18K and complain of Tinitis and blame it all on the fact that they are musicians. Hmm, it'll be interesting to see how well I can hear as I age, but I do plan on getting the best out of every frequency range I have while I have it LOL.

31, and can hear it as clear as a bell (after downloading and listening to it that way).
I could definitely see how that would be annoying!
There are railway stations that play classical music to achieve the same result.

I am 32 and i can hear it, but it does not hurt that bad.
But it feels little like after a rock concert.
I guess we should be careful.

Btw: I would like a sound to scare off Mosquito with if it exists, that would be cool.

I'm 28 and I can hear the shrill whine, but even on loud volume it sounds quiet to me. I do have some degree of tinnitus though.

Dude, look at the video's description. It's not ripped from anywhere, that's the author's own video.

    Hi.
I have used this sound in a game I made - Last Man Standing.
    Here is a link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/lastman/
I have put an info about downloading sounds from this site in the MANUAL.txt file.
I haven't specified the author and name of the sound.
If you have any objections (e.g. you don't want me to use this sound or you want your name in credits), please let me know.
    Regards
    alienovic
