These are finger cymbals, struck in front of an AKG D-40 dynamic microphone. This is really a test for the microphone, not production samples, as you can hear kettle noises on stove in the background. Still, they might be useful for something, like a sci-fi robot noise.
The D-40 is a specialised instrument dynamic microphone, here it is recording with the windcage taken off and only a windshield foam in f
ront of the diaphragm.
Recorded off an AKG D-40 dynamic microphone through Yamaha MG-102C mixer to a Roland UA-1G sound interface with shielded silver-plated copper wiring. Format is 96 KHz/24-bit, mono.
Processed with Photosounder Spline EQ, with an inverse microphone response EQ applied. There're fades at the end of each sample. Other than that, there's no processing.
